Since 1994, Great Lakes JETAA has been helping JET alumni stay involved in their local Japanese communities. Representing alums in Michigan and Ohio, we are supported by CLAIR, and the Consulate General of Japan in Detroit. We provide the membership opportunities to explore Japanese culture and grow the community.

The Officers
The Officers for Great Lakes JETAA are dedicated to planning and promoting events for our membership and our greater community in Michigan and Ohio. Additionally, two Officers go to the JETAA National Convention where they exchange ideas with other JETAA Chapters around the country, as well as present occasional relevant information about our chapter and our activities. The membership voted in the following to their positions in 2024. The next election for Officers will be in 2026.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors assists in the overall operations of Great Lakes JETAA as well as support in admin efforts in running the chapter. The Board of Directors meets four times a year. The membership elected the following to their positions in 2023. The next elections for the Board of Directors will be in 2028.
The current Board of Directors are Debbie K, Elizabeth L, Kate S, and Eric S.
